Home schooling has emerged as a substitute to traditional education through public and private school. More and more parents are falling in love with it because of it being legal in most of the countries. Home schooling has plenty of motivations as well as benefits over traditional schooling that has contributed towards its success.

There might be various reasons for homeschooling, depending on the parents and the children. Most of the parents prefer homeschooling over traditional schooling because they have concerns about the environment at the traditional schools. Some parents are also concerned about religious and moral instructions that are usually missing at the most private and public schools. Home schooling might also result because of a specific parenting style. In some specific conditions, parents prefer to home school such as when families are living in far off locations without any modern educational facilities or when families move abroad for a relatively short period of time.

Parents are better able to customize their teaching style with the learning aptitude of the child and specific emphasis can be given for tough or easy subjects.

With homeschooling, you can protect your children form negative influences of the society and you are also in a better position to strengthen the religious beliefs and moral values of your children. You will be able to enjoy each and every moment of your kids and foster their particular interests. You will be able to teach your children anywhere and anytime without having to worry about time or location.

On the other hand, home schooling might also have certain disadvantages. First of all, the children might get too dependent on their parents and might also be reluctant to make friends and mingle with other people. It is a full time job that will involve finding the perfect curriculum and getting the lectures ready before hand. In some countries, home schooling might not have any value in comparison to traditional education system.

All in all, homeschooling is a great idea. However, parents must be aware of the negative consequences of such modes of education and prepare themselves for justifying it in front of family and friends.
